Story

A year that changed everything

My name is Finlay. I am a 15-year-old British freestyle skier with aspirations of representing Great Britain at the Winter Olympics in 2030.

I discovered I had a talent for freestyle skiing just over a year ago. Since then, my development has been incredible, and I have achieved beyond expectations.

I have been fast-tracked to the Snowsport England Park & Pipe Talent Squad. In April this year, at an event in Austria, I became British U16 Champion in Freestyle Ski Big Air.

Recently selected as a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) athlete, awarded to athletes recognised as one of the country’s most exciting sporting talents.

The 2030 goal

Representing Great Britain at the 2030 Winter Olympics is the destination I am working toward — an aspiration, not a selection, qualification, or endorsement.

The next milestone on that road is the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games — another aspiration, not a selection or qualification.

To continue my development through the 26–27 season, I will be competing internationally and will need access to high-quality training facilities in Europe.

Why support matters

Without sponsorship support, it will become increasingly difficult or impossible to access the training opportunities necessary to compete with athletes from other nations.
